In July 2026, the communities surrounding Uvalde, Texas, faced another devastating natural disaster. Days of relentless rain dumped more than two feet of water across portions of Uvalde County and the surrounding Hill Country. Rivers overflowed, roads disappeared beneath rushing water, bridges were damaged, and neighborhoods were suddenly cut off. Hundreds of people across South Texas had to be rescued by first responders working around the clock.
For many families, the flood wasn’t just about water. It meant losing homes, vehicles, treasured memories, and a sense of normalcy. Children watched familiar parks and ball fields disappear beneath muddy floodwaters. Summer plans were interrupted, and many families were simply focused on getting through each day.
Yet, as Texans always seem to do, neighbors stepped forward. Volunteers filled sandbags, churches opened their doors, first responders risked their own safety, and complete strangers showed up with food, clothing, and supplies. Communities that had been knocked down began helping each other stand back up.
Baseball has always been about more than wins and losses.
It’s about teammates picking each other up after an error. It’s about believing tomorrow’s game is another opportunity. It’s about resilience.
That’s why this free baseball camp exists.
The camp is not about statistics, rankings, or recruiting. It’s about giving kids a chance to smile again, spend time with friends, learn from coaches who care, and enjoy being kids. If, for a few hours, we can replace the memories of floodwaters with the sound of baseballs hitting gloves, teammates laughing, and families cheering, then we’ve accomplished something much bigger than baseball.
Our hope is that every player leaves this field knowing one thing:
Just like a game of baseball, life will bring challenges. But with family, teammates, and a community standing beside you, you can always come back stronger.
