2025 Signature Event: Underclass Premier
Named the Most Outstanding Player at last year’s Fresh 50, Castillo is set to return to Dunkin’ Park for the Underclass Premier after a big showing at this July’s Underclass Combine in Houston. There’s some maturity in the frame, but it also provides with some significant physicality from a multitude of positions; he brings perhaps surprising athleticism to both the catcher and first base spots, and also handles himself well on the mound. Also having recently appeared at the National Tournaments, we’ll see Castillo again for the White squad this weekend in Hartford in a variety of roles.
42-year-old Mike Ashmore is a New Jersey-based writer with 23 years experience in professional baseball.
Since 2003, he has covered multiple World Series and has worked high-profile events ranging from the MLB All-Star Game to the World Baseball Classic. In addition to his role working for the Future Stars Series that he's held since 2017, Ashmore currently serves as the beat writer of the Double-A New York Yankees affiliate, the Somerset Patriots, as well as national hockey writer and New York Jets game day beat reporter for The Trentonian.

An avid card collector and sim racer, he lives with his wife, Sarah, their son William, and their beloved dog, Bailey, and cat, Smokey.
