Another member of the inaugural International Week event has been drafted today.
This time, it’s Justin Williams, who first dazzled as a member of US Elite at the Grad Class Tournament in 2017, and then went on to play for the National Team in Sugar Land, where he put together a very successful event.
He’s since gone on to be a collegiate standout at Penn State.
“Justin Williams, comped by the famous Butch Baccala as an Ed Sprague throwback,” said Jeremy Booth, CEO and president of the Future Stars Series. “He’s got an 80 arm, it’s a cannon, 90-whatever across the diamond. On the mound too, he’s pitched some. He’s power over hit for me, but he’s plenty strong and can play third base. A guy that’s going to go out and grind, hit every level of the minor leagues and be a guy that’s OK to hit .240, but he better hit 20 (home runs). He’s going to have to drive in runs, he’s going to hit it out of the ballpark, hit a bunch of doubles, he’s going to be a 60 defender at third base. But, he’ll do all that.”
