A Florida State commit, Justin Best is a big, physical outfielder from Combine Academy who still has projectability in his skillset despite a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. A standout student who recently attended the MLB Draft Combine, he impressed with a smooth swing that produced consistent power to the pull side. As he continues to develop, there is some thought that he may be better served to go the college route in the short term and raise his stock down the road, as he has the potential to rise into the first few rounds as his tools evolve.
FSS Event History: Best attended the Atlanta Regional Combine back in 2021, running a 6.82 60 and managing to stand out amongst a very strong group of players at that particular event. Scouts liked his ability both at shortstop and in center field, and praised him for being a “quick learner” with raw HR potential with future power to all fields.

Joe Doyle on Justin Best:
Best is a physical freak with huge bat speed and athletic tools smattered throughout. He’s got a short, compact swing with feel for the barrel and organic loft that creates majestic game power. Best can put it over the fence to all-fields. An above average runner, Best has tools on the bases and in the field. He’s got a plus throwing arm that features plenty of carry. This is a pretty prospect with some unpolished parts of his game. Definitive up arrow here.
