2025 Signature Event: Main Event
For a while, Zunker had gone under the radar, despite a 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame. No longer. First seen at a Texas Angels Scout Day in early 2024, Zunker earned his way to the Underclass Elite event later that year, but was perhaps an underdog to make his way to the Main Event. Instead, he went out and dominated on the mound — and contributed at the plate as well — at our National Combine in Houston this July, knocking the door down to get to play in Frisco and Arlington later this year,.
42-year-old Mike Ashmore is a New Jersey-based writer with 23 years experience in professional baseball.
Since 2003, he has covered multiple World Series and has worked high-profile events ranging from the MLB All-Star Game to the World Baseball Classic.
