MLB DRAFT: Top prospects available on Day 2

July 15, 2024

It was a banner day for high school prospects on day one of the MLB Draft as 3o preps were selected on the day. In total, 40.5 percent of the names called in Fort Worth Sunday night were of the high school variety.

Never to be outdone, college prospects dominated the top of the Draft this year, the first eight picks all being of the older variety. In total close to 60 percent of day one was college performers.

There are still plenty of players deemed top 1oo prospects by FSS PLUS destined to hear their name called tomorrow. The biggest name folks will be looking for tomorrow? Mississippi State outfielder Dakota Jordan. He's likely to hear his name quite early on Monday. But it figures to be another day for organizations to be opportunistic with high school talent too. There are still two players who ranked inside the top 50 at FSS available in Blackfoot (Id.) right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney and Ankeny (Ia.) right-handed pitcher Joey Oakie.

Here are the top 20 players available on Day 2 of the Draft.
