2023 Future Stars Series Main Event player profile: Jaden Gummersbach

September 27, 2023

While there are plenty of players with big college commitments on both rosters of the upcoming New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series Main Event, there’s also a strong selection of talent with “uncommitted” next to their names.

It is, surely, not for a lack of talent, and Jaden Gummersbach will surely serve of a prime example of that this coming weekend.

With the event set for September 29-October 1, it’s been the culmination of months of work for the five-foot-ten, 185-pound outfielder to get to this point, having first been seen at the TNXL Academy and Canes Scout Day back in February, which led to his invite to the National Combine in Nashville in July.

“My experience with the Futures Stars Series has been amazing,” Gummersbach said. “They are completely different from other showcases, because they are just a different brand of baseball.”

Gummersbach is excited to show his own brand of baseball on the big stage as a strong runner who can take the ball to all fields and cover plenty of ground in the outfield. Since Shelby Park, he’s been putting in the work to continue to improve in all facets of his game.

“I have been working on recognizing offspeed pitches earlier, and staying on it to the opposite field,” he said.

A switch-hitter, the Florida native will have plenty of options on where he wants to try to rack up his hits in Boston, eager to show what he can do at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark in front of a long list of big-league scouts and execs as he looks to solidify his college baseball path as well.

“Playing at Fenway Park is something you dream of as a kid, so making it a reality is a dream come true,” he said.
“One of my best tools is my speed, so I will be looking to get on base as much as possible to showcase that.”
