The Georgia Premier Academy star is committed to Georgia to play his college baseball, where he’d likely slot in at his customary third base or shortstop. An impact personality off the field as well, Tre Phelps produces with the bat wherever he goes, and is an athletic presence both on the basepaths and the left side of the infield.
FSS Event History: Phelps’ list of FSS events reads like a CVS receipt and includes appearances in the Underclass Combine, Underclass Elite, Main Event and Caribbean Classic. You name it, he’s done it. He collected a hit at Fenway Park in the Main Event, and was one of the driving forces for the “Goon Squad” to bring the belt back home in the Dominican Republic.

Phelps is a bat-first infielder with juice to all-fields and speed an instincts on the base paths to be a very real weapon. He’s only a solid-average runner, but he gets a great first step and is a high IQ player. Phelps is likely destined for third base with his hands, range and average throwing arm fit best.
Since 2003, he has covered multiple World Series and has worked high-profile events ranging from the MLB All-Star Game to the World Baseball Classic. In addition to his role working for the Future Stars Series that he's held since 2017, Ashmore currently serves as the beat writer of the Double-A New York Yankees affiliate, the Somerset Patriots, as well as national hockey writer and New York Jets game day beat reporter for The Trentonian.
A regular contributor to Baseball America, Ashmore has worked seven Super Bowls, 11 Stanley Cup Finals, the 4 Nations Face-Off, the NBA Playoffs, College Football Playoff National Championship Game, Frozen Four, Daytona 500, major UFC events and much more as he approaches 3,200 games covered in his career.
