2023 MLB DRAFT: Collin Priest, 1B — Mount Dora Christian Academy (FL)

A Florida native who is considered by most to be the top corner infielder in the state, Collin Priest shows his power tool early and often, which he’s done at numerous FSS events as well. A solid defender as well at first base, he also has experience in the outfield.

FSS Event History: Priest will always go down in FSS history as the first player to ever hit an over-the-fence homer at a big league ballpark, doing so at Fenway Park in the Main Event. He first popped up at a signature event back in 2020 at the Underclass Combine, and was back on the radar two years later at the National Combine, where he earned his invite to Boston.

Current Ranking in Joe Doyle’s FSS Plus Top 600: 463

Joe Doyle on Priest:

Priest, a Michigan commit, is a decorated power hitter with considerable bat speed and an attack angle built to do damage. The gaudy power projections are evidenced by his 11 homers through just 26 high school games this season. Priest is likely destined for first base where his hands and first step will work best. The bat, however, is the clear carrying tool here.
