The Toronto Blue Jays have made waves the past few years, and may be among the favorites in the American League in 2023. The impressive part is how sustainable it appears to be, thanks to impact talent coming through their system.
Alek Manoah, Valdimir Gurrrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk, Danny Jansen, Santiago Espinal, and Jordan Romano all developed from within, opening a otential championship window for the next several seasons.
But the Jays aren’t done producing young talent.
Ages as of July 1, 2023
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
1 | 20 | Ricky Tiedemann | LHP | 60 |
Tiedmann’s fastball-slider-changeup combo could dominate in the majors right now, but his command needs work before he arrives in Toronto.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
2 | 25 | Yosver Zulueta | RHP | 55 |
It’s a huge fastball with a chance at three above-average secondaries for Zulueta, who may be able to help the Jays’ bullpen in 2023, and has ace reliever upside if he can’t start long-term.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
3 | 19 | Brandon Barriera | LHP | 50 |
Barriera could have four pitches from his low three-quarters slot, including velocity into the mod-90s and a swing-and-miss slider.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
4 | 21 | Orelvis Martinez | SS/3B | 50 |
Plus raw power leads the way for Martinez, and if he can handle the hot corner defensively it’s a traditional profile.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
5 | 23 | Addison Barger | SS/3B | 50 |
The eventual move off shortstop wouldn’t do much to damper Barger’s potential, thanks to 60-grade raw power and a shot at league average on-base marks.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
6 | 19 | Tucker Toman | SS | 50 |
The switch hitter has plus lefty power, and a chance stay up the middle as a bat-first 2B/SS in the mold of a Daniuel Murphy or Neil Walker.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
7 | 20 | Dahian Santos | RHP | 50 |
Santos’ athletic frame projects well despite a lack of prototypical size (5listed at -11/160), and he’s already missing bats with above-average stuff in the lower minors.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
8 | 22 | Cade Doughty | 2B/3B | 45 |
Doughty has impact power for a middle infielder, suggesting if he can stay at second there’s a chance he’s a regular within two years of the majors.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
9 | 22 | Hayden Juenger | OF | 45 |
Juenger is a two-pitch righty up to 97 mph with a running fastball setting up an above-average slider.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
10 | 21 | Josh Kasevich | SS | 45 |
He may not stick at short, but Kasevich makes a lot of contact and possesses the strength to develop average game power.
RANK | AGE | PLAYER | POS | OFP |
11 | 20 | Gabriel Martinez | OF | 45 |
12 | 22 | Adam Macko | LHP | 45 |
13 | 17 | Emmanuel Bonilla | OF | 45 |

15 | 21 | Sem Robberse | RHP | 40 |
16 | 25 | Spencer Horwitz | 1B/OF | 40 |
17 | 22 | Adam Kloffenstein | RHP | 40 |
18 | 19 | 2B/SS | 40 | |
19 | 21 | Estiven Machado | 2B/SS | 40 |
20 | 24 | Hagen Danner | RHP | 40 |
21 | 22 | Leo Jimenez | 2B/SS | 35 |
22 | 20 | Adrian Pinto | UT | 35 |
23 | 23 | Damiano Palmegiani | 3B/1B | 35 |
24 | 21 | Irv Carter | RHP | 35 |
25 | 24 | CJ Van Eyk | RHP | 35 |
26 | 21 | Dasan Brown | OF | 35 |
27 | 21 | Alex De Jesus | SS/3B | 35 |
28 | 24 | Trent Palmer | RHP | 35 |
