Hunter Lynch remains an extremely intriguing 2026 grad class two-way talent, but it’s fair to say the majority of his impact at the 2026 New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine was on the mound.
It was his Game 2 start, where he went four-plus innings for the victorious United States team, that earned him a place on the prestigious All-Tournament Team.
The six-foot-two, 225-pound California-native was extremely effective on the mound during his outing in the DR, but the 2025 winner of the FSS Heart and Hustle Award has a long history of making an impact on both sides of the ball with us, dating back to our first look at him all the way back in 2022 at a NorCal Elite League visit. Lynch wowed staffers — although he certainly didn’t surprise them — by arriving to Houston several days in advance of the National Combine to get early work in, and then was one of just two players to homer at San Jac during the summer selection events. Unfortunately, he was unable to play in the Main Event due to illness.
Very athletic for his size — he ran a 7.2 60 this summer — our scouts rave about his “plus makeup” and believe it’ll ultimately a landing spot at a corner on the dirt for Lynch, although “his body is trending in the correct direction in changing the softer muscle he had, and tightening it up and adding good muscle…he plays the game with great energy, effort, and the desire to be coached and learn.”
Below, see Lynch’s National Combine no-doubter, and make sure you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel for more Lynch highlights, as well as footage from the past decade from the top amateur talent on the planet.
