Arizona Diamondbacks Top 30 Prospects 2023 Preseason

April 2, 2023

The Arizona Diamondbacks haven’t won 90 or made the postseason since 2017, and the franchise owns just four such seasons since winning it all in 2001.

The future looks bright, however, and the impact talent the D-Backs have been developing is starting to show up in the big leagues.

Ages as of July 1, 2023

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
1 22 Corbin Carroll OF 70

Despite missing 2020 (canceled season) and all but seven games in 2021 (shoulder), the 2019 first-round reached the big leagues last season and appears equipped to star immediately thanks to blazing speed, a plus hit tool, and underrated pop.

Jones will make his pro debut this spring after shoulder surgery, and possesses plus tools across the board.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP

It’s a four-pitch mix for Nelson, including velocity up to 97 mph and two quality breaking balls.

It’s a big fastball and a nasty slider from Sims, whose changeup and command need a bit of work. The floor is a high-leverage reliever.

Jameson touches the mid-90s and beyond, setting up a plus slider amidst three quality off-speed pitches in what may be a reliever role.

Walston has three secondaries that project as average to plus and he’s up to 94 mph.
