Concluding our look at the award winners from our recent New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series Underclass Elite is Juaquin Ochs, who earned Best Pitcher honors at Dudy Noble Field, home of the Mississippi State University baseball program.
An athletic two-way player that stands six-foot-one and is 180 pounds, Ochs is a currently an uncommitted standout from the Wow Factor program who graded out very well on both sides of the ball in a D1 setting, but popped slightly more on the mound en route to bringing home the trophy. Ochs flashed a fastball/curveball/changeup mix over the course of an at-times-dominant outing, with our scouts seeing a “D1 upside/ceiling and more in the future with continued development.”
Ochs is a “ultra projection young, LHP with now feel for the zone” and has established himself as a name to keep an eye on for the 2027 Main Event, as it’s never too early to start thinking about how those rosters might look.
