With their ninth-round selection in the 2021 MLB Draft, the New York Mets have selected RHP Levi David, who just attended the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series powered by Program 15’s Pre-Draft College Combine.
David recorded two strikeouts in Lake Charles, which you can see here.
“Big arm, breaking ball” said Jeremy Booth, CEO and president of the Future Stars Series. “Potential back-end bullpen guy, but impresses on the mound. Imposing type of guy that’s going to beat hitters up inside because he can. He can make people conscious about his breaking ball. He’s a fastball-protection guy, he can do it. Whether he’s a starter or reliever depends on what he does, but he’ll go out as a starter. If he goes to the back of the bullpen, it’ll be a legitimate 100 miles per hour, not a sticky-stuff 100 miles per hour.”
