Two-time International Week alum Jose Izarra was taken with the 435th overall pick of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Izarra racked up the hits at both events, smacking a triple at Camelback Ranch in 2018, and following that up with an RBI single in Pawtucket a year later in the first game of that year’s IW event.
PICK ANALYSIS BY JEREMY BOOTH, CEO AND PRESIDENT OF THE NEW BALANCE BASEBALL FUTURE STARS SERIES: Izarra, my comp was Rey Ordonez, and it sounds like he went to Miami and lived into that there. Just enough to play every day, pick the ball up and execute and was plus on that side. That’s the right side for him to go to.
