Termarr Johnson, who attended the 2021 New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series regional combine in Atlanta, has been selected 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He becomes the highest draft pick in the history of the Future Stars Series, albeit having attended just that one event.

Johnson was seemingly a lock to be one of the top few picks in the draft in virtually every mock leading up to the actual draft, and is considered to be one of the best pure hitters in the draft, if not the best entirely. He impressed the development staff in attendance in Atlanta with advanced actions in the field and impressive metrics at the plate, and should progress quickly through the ranks in pro ball once he signs.
PICK ANALYSIS BY JEREMY BOOTH, CEO AND PRESIDENT OF THE NEW BALANCE BASEBALL FUTURE STARS SERIES: “Termarr is a great kid, great young man. Has an advanced feel to hit, bat is going to carry as long as he wants to go. But more impressive than that is the way he approaches the game and the focus. Good family, but one of those type of kids that you can gravitate to and is just out there to compete every day.”
