HOUSTON, TX — New Balance is making a bold move in grassroots baseball, commissioning Program 15 Sports to establish a nationwide network of New Balance Scout Teams, an ambitious initiative designed to accelerate and anchor how young athletes develop, compete, and access opportunities throughout their baseball journeys.
The initiative represents a significant expansion of New Balance’s commitment to amateur baseball, bringing together established travel baseball organizations under a unified development philosophy while connecting athletes to the advanced scouting, performance data, and player development resources of the Future Stars Series.
Unlike traditional national travel baseball programs built around assembling elite rosters, New Balance Scout Teams will focus on strengthening baseball at the regional level, empowering established organizations to maintain their local identities while gaining access to a national network of resources and opportunities.
A National Vision Built at the Regional Level
New Balance Scout Teams will represent cities and regions across the country, competing under the New Balance name while maintaining the flexibility to build schedules and participate in tournaments that best serve their players.
The initiative will bring a consistent, future role-oriented development-first approach to participating organizations, emphasizing individual growth, measurable improvement, and long-term athletic progression.
Through Program 15’s trademarked player evaluation and development model, athletes will benefit from individualized development plans, ongoing performance evaluations, workload management guidelines, and feedback designed to support their progression at every stage.
The goal is to enhance play across the country in a more connected national network without sacrificing the regional relationships, coaching environments, and competitive opportunities that are essential to grassroots baseball.
The Future Stars Series Advantage
Central to the initiative is its connection to the Future Stars Series, providing participating athletes with a comprehensive development and evaluation platform extending beyond traditional travel baseball competitions. It is the only one of its kind in the sport, and it’s no longer disputable.
Through regional combines, tournaments, and data-driven evaluation events, New Balance Scout Team athletes will have opportunities to establish performance benchmarks, track measurable progress, and access the same tools and scouting assessments used by decision makers across the sport.
Individual player profiles and development resources will allow athletes to build a history of their progression, creating greater visibility into their strengths, areas for improvement, and long-term potential.
Participating players will also have a streamlined pathway to premier Future Stars Series programming, including National Combines, signature events, national competition, and expanded opportunities.
The combination of regional development and national evaluation is designed to create a more connected player experience, where performance and progression can be measured over time rather than through isolated tournament appearances. Each scout team will participate in regional events with game play, held at NBFSS data hubs across Division 1, NJCAA, and high school campuses.
A New Standard for Grassroots Baseball
The New Balance Scout Teams initiative is designed for expansion into markets throughout the United States, with participating organizations selected based on their commitment to player development, talent identification, and established program standards.
Rather than creating a centralized national roster, the initiative will build a network of regional programs with exceptional talent operating under a shared development philosophy, supported by Program 15 and connected through Future Stars Series evaluation opportunities. FSS events will serve as the times when players break off from their clubs and form a narrowed roster.
The model allows organizations to preserve their independence while giving athletes access to resources and development pathways typically unavailable through traditional travel baseball structures.
Building What’s Next
The introduction of New Balance Scout Teams marks another major step in the continued evolution of New Balance’s relationship with Program 15 and the Future Stars Series.
Together, the organizations are working to establish a new model for grassroots baseball—one that places player development at the center, connects local opportunities with national resources, and creates a more comprehensive pathway for the next generation of athletes.
For young baseball players across the country, the New Balance Scout Teams initiative represents more than a new uniform or team identity. It represents an opportunity to be part of a development system built to recognize potential, measure progress, and help athletes reach the next level.
The future of grassroots baseball starts now.
