Caribbean Classic All-Tournament Team Player Recap: Cristian Alvino

February 7, 2026

Slots for International pitchers were pretty limited on the All-Tournament Team at this year’s New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine.

Cristian Alvino made it with ease.

An intriguing righty out of the same Ponchipu Academy in the DR that helped produce former Tampa Bay Rays top 30 prospect Carlos Colemenarez, Alvino showed a three-pitch mix in January in the Dominican Republic; he featured a low 90’s fastball from a high three-quarter to over-the-top slot while also working in a high 70’s slider and split that sat between 79-80. The latter served as his best offspeed offering according to our scouts, with some tumble to it helping keep hitters off-balance in his outing with the Gray team.

There’s little other info available on Alvino — even things as simple as signing-eligible year or height and weight — but his impact over that weekend at the return of the Caribbean Classic was undeniable.
