Abismael Amparo is an 18-year-old Dominican-born righty who was overlooked when it came time for his class to sign with big league teams, so it’s fair to say he had a lot on the line when he stepped on the mound for the Gray team at the 2026 New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine.
He walked away with an appearance on the prestigious All-Tournament Team, and gave the big league teams in attendance another good look at him.
Per our scouting staff, Amparo featured the best velocity in the event, getting his fastball up to 93 miles per hour in January, and he utilized a three-quarter slot to showcase what was a quick arm during his outing. He worked in and out well, and has a mostly now frame, although his exact height and weight are unknown for the Yamasa standout.
To see some of the other arms from the event, as well as a decade’s worth of footage from the top amateur talent on the planet, make sure you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel.
