Erick Del Carmen is under the radar no longer.
After being named to the 2026 New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine’s All-Tournament Team, how could he be?
His trip to the Dominican Republic was something of a breakout performance for the Georgia Premier Academy standout, one whose stock has steadily been on the rise ever since we first saw him at a GPA Scout Day back in April. A five-foot-ten, 191-pound outfielder who is eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft, Del Carmen has been a steady producer at FSS events for nearly a year now, including the National Combine — an event in which he earned an invite to the unprecedented fourth day of the event — the Main Event and now the Caribbean Classic.
Del Carmen is a Seminole State College commit, where he’s expected to play alongside fellow GPA prospect and Main Event alum Jace Dardar. There’s a pro future ahead for Del Carmen, with a ceiling of a fourth or fifth outfielder at the big league level certainly achievable with continued steady progress and development. Our scouts like that he’s “just a flat out gamer with great makeup, physicality and is a leader,” as evidenced by his willingness to translate for the International players down in the DR.
He’s “very physical and strong muscular kid with a now body, just needs to stay lean and flexible…has a hitterish vibe to him with a simple load process and a direct path swing with strong hands and hard line contact to all fields.” One of the most consistent performers all weekend long in the DR, Del Carmen showed that all fields approach with an opposite field triple for the United States team that was one of multiple hits he recorded, and will be a very interesting prospect to watch as the Draft draws closer.
