A native of the Bahamas, Kaizen Dorsett has made an impact at multiple New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series events over the past several months, including the World Combine and most recently the Caribbean Classic, both presented by DraftLine. A 2029 grad who is currently five-foot-nine and 175 pounds, there’s a lot to like with the projectable catcher and infielder, and his selection to the Caribbean Classic’s All-Tournament Team was certainly no accident.
Despite being one of the younger players in the event, Dorsett produced consistently in the games with the bat, and it’s perhaps a sign of things to come according to our scouts, who gave him high future marks in his most recent scouting report. Now, however, our staff likes how he “hits with a really good load process, steady head, consistent barrel, and middle of the diamond approach,” and he drew high praise for his the “maturity and focus to his game…is a gamer. I would really like to have this kid on my team and in my farm system. Can tell there is some defensive versatility that would allow his bat to play and stay in the lineup consistently.”
