There’s no shortage of quality international infielders coming through the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series pipeline right now, and Yohan Martinez is no exception. Named to the Caribbean Classic’s All-Tournament Team, the 2027 signing-eligible six-foot, 155-pound shortstop made his third FSS appearance in January after first being seen in October in the DR, and then subsequently in Orlando at December’s World Combine.
Our scouting staff has Martinez profiling as a “platoon starting INF with the athletic ability to add versatility in the OF,” with “enough chops to stick at SS and strong enough to be a plus 3B defender…55/60 arm w/ real zip and carry.” Still developing with a currently smaller frame, there’s also room for there to be strides taken with the bat; with the potential for a future 55 power grade on his report.
Below, see Martinez’s line drive RBI single from January, and make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel for more Martinez clips, plus footage from the past decade of the top amateur talent on the planet.
