There are few better compliments for a hitter, particularly at this level, than “all he does is hit.”
That was the chatter behind the plate about Tommy Georgelos for the duration of his time with the United States team at the 2026 New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine, and it was of course the actual results that earned him a spot on the event’s All-Tournament Team.
In a visit to the DR cut short by illness, the Illinois native was a tablesetter as the leadoff man for the victorious US squad, and delivered three hits in his two games on the island, including two for extra-bases. Overlooked by some with a five-foot-ten, 175-pound frame, there is significant value and impact for the just-turned-18-year-old, who is eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft. An Eastern Illinois commit, his time with the FSS dates back to first being seen at Music City Mania in 2023, which was followed by a trip to the Underclass Combine the following year, and then his first signature event, the Underclass Elite, several months later.
It was 2025, however, where he really established himself as a name to watch; after impressing at Instructs late the previous year, Georgelos earned an invite to the National Combine and was asked to stick around for the event’s unprecedented fourth day, then made the trip to the Main Event at Globe Life Field, where he established himself as a strong candidate to be invited to the return of the Caribbean Classic.
Our scouting staff sees the 6.92 60-yard dash running outfielder as a “strong college player who could turn himself into a professional prospect if he continues to hit against high level arms,” and see the lefty bat as the carrying tool here, saying he can “flat out hit with a consistent short and repeatable swing path…has hard contact at a very high rate and sprays the ball over the diamond” and has the potential for a solid pro career if the bat tool continues the current trajectory.
