A 2026-eligible signing out of the Dominican Republic, Hector Reynoso presents as a unique diamond in the rough who made the most of his appearance at the New Balance Future Stars Series Caribbean Classic presented by DraftLine back in January.
We first saw Reynoso back at the World Combine in December, where he opened some eyes with his ability at the plate from the left side, memorably sitting on an offspeed offering from a college arm and smacking a standup triple off the fence to his pull side. In his native DR, it was more of the same as a member of the White team, earning Reynoso a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The six-foot-one, 170-pound outfielder, who ran a 7.0 60-yard dash back in Orlando in December, has glowing scouting reports in our system from back-to-back events, with a high ceiling that comes with “bring(ing) a BIG skill set to the table, potential MLB All-Star,” as it reads in his latest report.
“Hector is long and full of lean muscle,” our scout goes on to say on the YP Academy standout.
“His shoulders are square, back is wide, legs are long, and the body still screams projection to add size and strength. Defensively he covers ground because of his long, smooth strides, and the arm has carry and projects to be plus in the future. Offensively he has a natural swing with some loft power. Hector showed bat speed, the ability to hit velocity, and good barrel control thru the zone.”
The scout who wrote him up in December, a different one than January’s report, was perhaps even more complimentary, saying “first round type talent domestically who can impact the game in a variety of ways…this kid is a very good one, I am in on this dude.”
