2020 MLB Draft: Drew Romo, Colorado Rockies, 35th Overall Pick

June 11, 2020

The Colorado Rockies used their competitive balance pick in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft to select catcher Drew Romo, marking an incredible four first rounders who have played at some point for the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series powered by Program 15.

Romo, who was invited to International Week but could not attend, will join Zac Veen in the Rockies farm system; both starred for the Scorpions at the most recent national tournament in Cypress, Texas.

QUICK SCOUTING REPORT BY CEO JEREMY BOOTH:

Drew Romo makes the position look easy. He controls the game and can handle a staff with the best of them. Class act type of kid who understands the game and himself. He’s at home on the baseball field and will thrive at the next level.
