The San Diego Padres used the 34th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 MB Draft to select Justin Lange, marking the first time the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series has helped produce three first round picks in a single draft.
Relatively unknown at the time of the most recent International Week event, Lange became one of the breakout stars with a dazzling performance in which he blew away the competition with a fastball that has since climbed to over 100 miles per hour.
QUICK SCOUTING REPORT FROM CEO JEREMY BOOTH: “From the time I saw him in May you could tell he had impact written all over him. (Report from May 2019 — ) “He’s got a huge ceiling and is the best athlete in the draft. Reminds me of Max Scherzer.”
