Milwaukee Brewers Top 30 Prospects 2023 Preseason

April 3, 2023

As a develop and trade type of organization it’s imperative the Milwaukee Brewers churn out impact talent through the draft and international free agency. And they’re good at it.

Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Devin Williams are just a few examples on the current 26-man roster, and there’s plenty of big-league talent pushing its way to Miller Park.

Ages as of July 1, 2023

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
1 19 Jackson Chourio OF 70

Chourio is among the elite prospects in baseball with four premium tools, including blazing speed and a chance to hit 30-plus homers.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
2 23 Sal Frelick OF 60

Led by a hit-field-run toolbox, Frelick projects as an everyday centerfielder with table-setter plate skills.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
3 24 Joey Wiemer OF 50

Wiemer, the club’s fourth-round pick in 2020, can really move especially for a bigger player (6-5/215), and has easy double-plus raw power. His swing and swing decisions will dictate how much of that he gets into in games.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
4 24 Garrett Mitchell OF 50

Mitchell is a terrific athlete with 70-grade speed and a chance for impact power and defense. Bat path and swing decisions have held his overall profile back to this point.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
5 21 Jacob Misiorowski RHP 45

The Brewers’ 2022 second-round pick brings huge velocity (95-100 mph) and a plus slider to pro ball, and there’s plenty of projection left. Whether he fits in a rotation or a bullpen remains to be seen.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
6 23 Brice Turang SS 45

Turang’s speed and defense lead the way, but there’s enough bat speed and zone feel to support an everyday profile.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
7 23 Eric Brown Jr. SS 45

Last year’s first-rounder has a polished hit tool, a chance at average power, and projects to stick at shortstop.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
8 20 Jeferson Quero C 45

Quero has all the tools to be a plus defensive catcher, but sleep on the bat at your own peril.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
9 24 Robert Gasser LHP 40

Gasser is a command-and-feel left-hander whose fastballs plays up due to his ability to locate and sell his secondaries.

RANK AGE PLAYER POS OFP
10 22 Tyler Black 2B 40

It’s just fringe power, but Black projects to hit for average with high OBPs and make an impact on the bases.
