FSS expands on partnership with Mass General Brigham CSPAR

HOUSTON, TXNew Balance Future Stars Series (FSS) continues to expand its player development through its partnership with the Mass General Brigham Center for Sports Performance and Research (CSPAR), creating a pathway for advanced athletic testing, performance evaluation, and development programming for players across multiple levels of baseball.

The partnership will take CSPAR’s science-based performance training and evaluation model and integrate it into Future Stars Series events and affiliated programs which feature FSS’s partnership with the NJCAA, high school prospects participating in FSS showcases and combines, and players competing within the Futures Collegiate Baseball League organizations in Vermont Lake Monsters and Lowell Spinners.

The collaboration, previously announced in 2024, aligns with Future Stars Series’ continued mission of combining scouting, analytics, technology, and player performance resources to better prepare athletes for advancement to the collegiate and professional levels.

“Athlete performance, health, workload balance, and execution are paramount to success at every level,” said Jeremy Booth, CEO and President of Baseball Operations for New Balance Future Stars Series. “One of the key initiatives of the Future Stars Series has always been finding ways to connect players with some of the best performance minds and resources in the world — opportunities most players want but rarely gain access to.”

Located at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Massachusetts, CSPAR utilizes advanced biomechanics, motion analysis, force plate technology, metabolic testing, cognitive performance evaluation, and recovery science to help athletes optimize performance and reduce injury risk. The facility serves athletes of all levels — from high school and collegiate competitors to professional and Olympic athletes.

Through the partnership, FSS athletes will have opportunities to participate in advanced testing and performance evaluations designed to provide deeper insight into movement efficiency, strength development, recovery, biomechanics, conditioning, and overall athletic performance. The initiative is expected to expand throughout Future Stars Series events and affiliated programs moving forward.

“Training is evidently an integral part of developing as an athlete but being able to do so in an intentional focused, personalized and data-driven way enhances and expedites individual athletic development,” said Elizabeth Benn, Player Development Analyst for New Balance Future Stars Series. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with CSPAR in order to better serve our athletes to make leaps forward towards their performance goals.”

Mass General Brigham’s Center for Sports Performance and Research is recognized for its data-driven approach to athlete development and recovery, combining sports science research with individualized training plans and cutting-edge technology. The Center features integrated motion capture systems, force plate analysis, physiological testing, recovery technologies, and sport-specific performance programs aimed at maximizing athlete potential.

“Measuring cognitive response, flexibility, arm health, and deeper performance indicators that allow players to better understand themselves and make more informed decisions about their careers is extremely valuable information for long-term growth and success. There’s nobody better than this group to apply it, and I can’t wait to get up there and continue to test and build on it,” added Booth. “We’re excited to help athletes pursue their goals while also giving them tools, guidance, and structure that can positively shape the direction of their careers long term.”

The partnership further strengthens the growing FSS ecosystem that connects scouting, player identification, forecasting models, technology integration, and performance development into one unified pipeline for athletes, colleges, and professional organizations.
