Future Stars Series Regional Combine Schedule Continues With Big Stop In Chicago

March 24, 2021

As the road to the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series powered by Program 15’s jewel events continues, another stop to take a look at the players who may end up getting invited to them is made.

This week, the staff heads to the midwest for the Chicago Regional Combine, which is set to be held on Friday at beautiful Heritage Park in the suburb of Wheeling.  The event will feature a group from the Illinois Indians partner program, as well as a collection of some of other top talent in the area.

Among the notable players with college commitments at what’s expected to be a heavily attended event are 2024 RHP/OF Noah Lafine (Vanderbilt), 2023 C/OF Zion Rose (Louisville), 2022 INF Logan Wagner (Louisville) and speedy 2022 OF/INF Tommy Specht (Kentucky).

There may be even more intrigue from those who are currently uncommitted, however…although that status may not last long considering Jake McCarter finalized his commitment to Louisiana-Lafayette during the Regional Combine held in Philadelphia just two weeks ago.

A bevy of players from each of the next four graduating classes will comprise the list of those to keep an eye on heading into the event, including 2022 RHP Ryan Ball, C/3B 2022 Tyler Dean, CF/LHP 2023 AJ Garcia, 2023 RHP Ryan Geraghty, 2022 RHP/3B Christopher Bieniek, 2025 OF/RHP Davis Collie, 2024 3B/OF Keenan Oldani, 2022 RHP Gavin Sitarz and 2022 INF Casey Hintz.

The event marks the first visit back to the Chicago area in three years for the Future Stars Series, and the response has been overwhelming.  Approximately 150 players are expected to be in attendance, which will make it all the more fascinating to see who earns coveted invites to the Underclass or National Combines coming up this summer.
