New Balance Future Stars Series enlists Major League Baseball veterans for special assistant to the president roles

Future Stars Series

New Balance Future Stars Series has announced the expansion of its team with the addition of two highly esteemed industry professionals. Bobby Evans and Jim Duquette have joined the organization as special assistants to the president, bringing their extensive experience and expertise to further elevate the game of baseball.

Evans will work with MLB clubs and focus on business operations, while Duquette will assist in facilitating growth and expansion, broadcasting, and regional facility implementation. Both will contribute to baseball operations and system structure.

“We are very excited about the future,” says Jeremy Booth, President and CEO of the New Balance Future Stars Series. “The passion for the game and the resumes of these two go hand in hand. We’ve been resources for each other for quite some time now in all things, and to be able to come together officially is extremely exciting for me and the whole group. It’s a big step towards an even bigger impact, as the experience and expertise Bobby and Jim bring across all platforms in any and every arena can’t be overstated. Bigger than that is their character and humility, and you can feel it in everything they do.”

Jim Duquette has an impressive background in the world of baseball, having spent 15 years with the New York Mets in various roles, including overseeing their player development system and serving as General Manager from 2003 to 2004.

Duquette’s extensive knowledge and insight will be invaluable in his role with the New Balance Future Stars Series. He is also well-known for his work as the lead baseball analyst for Sirius / XM’s MLB NETWORK RADIO and as a regular contributor to the MLB Network and The MidAtlantic Sports Network. Duquette’s passion for the sport extends beyond his professional career, as he is actively involved in charities such as the Nephcure Kidney Foundation, supporting research for rare kidney ailments in children.

“Future Stars Series’ focus on player development and personal player growth aligns perfectly with Bobby’s and my background as long-time MLB executives,” said Duquette. “I’m excited to be joining this elite group of baseball minds led by Jeremy Booth. His leadership as a businessman over the past 7 years, combined with his baseball evaluation skills, has helped make FSS and P15 a powerhouse company to be reckoned with for the long term.”

Bobby Evans, recognized for his 25-year tenure with the San Francisco Giants in the Baseball Operations Department from 1994-2018, brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role as a special assistant to the president. His contributions to the Giants were paramount, notably after he was appointed the Senior Vice President and General Manager on April 3, 2015, becoming the eighth individual to occupy this role since the Giants’ relocation to San Francisco in 1958. Prior to this, Evans served as the assistant general manager for nine seasons (2006-2014), a period marked by unprecedented success with the Giants clinching three World Series Championships (2010, 2012, 2014) and numerous organizational awards.  He was a finalist for the Houston Astros General Manager position this past off-season.

Evans’ strategic management and operational excellence track record extends beyond team championships. He was awarded the Bowie Kuhn Award in 2012 for his support of the chapel program in professional baseball and the Will Wynne Award in 2016 for his substantial contributions to baseball. Evans is poised to contribute significantly to the growth and expansion of the New Balance Future Stars Series.

“Jeremy and his team at Future Stars Series have set a standard of excellence in evaluating and developing future Major League talent. Their success and continued growth in serving the baseball community at large make this an exciting partnership for both Jim and myself,” said Evans.
