The Cleveland Indians selected outfielder Petey Halpin with the 95th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. Halpin marked the seventh alum of the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series taken in the first three rounds of this year’s draft — Program 15 had helped to produce six players taken in the first three rounds over the last two years combined.
Halpin had arguably the best performance of any player at this year’s International Week event, reaching base in ten of his 12 plate appearances.
QUICK SCOUTING REPORT FROM CEO JEREMY BOOTH:
Petey is cant miss TV. He’s a gamer who can flat hit. Every time he’s near the plate I stop and watch. Loves to compete and believes in himself in ways that will carry him. Throws enough to stop runners from thinking about extra bases. Corner OF profile who will end up 2 in a lineup.
