ARLINGTON, Texas – Due to what appears to be a historic winter storm system and out of an abundance of caution for all players, families, fans, and event personnel, the New Balance Future Stars Series leadership has made the decision to cancel the JUCO Showdown presented by Draftline at Globe Life Field this weekend.
With severe weather conditions impacting much of Texas and large portions of the country, we are facing unsafe travel conditions, potential road closures, college campus shutdowns, and multiple factors that would prevent the event from being conducted safely or productively.
The safety and well-being of everyone involved remains our top priority, and after careful consideration, we believe this is the responsible decision and is in full alignment with the nine schools attending, the Texas Rangers, and Rev Entertainment.
We sincerely appreciate the support, understanding, and flexibility shown by all participants and supporters. Planning is already underway for a fall iteration of the Junior College Showdown, as well as the next spring event, and we look forward to delivering an outstanding experience under safer and more favorable conditions.
For those who have purchased tickets, refunds will be issued as reconciliation is completed. We will be in direct communication throughout that process, which is expected to move quickly.
