Houston Astros Top 30 Prospect Rankings Update

August 6, 2023

The Houston Astros has sustained high-level winning for seven straight seasons now, and their farm system is an enormous reason why.

Developing Carlos Correa, George Springer, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Jeremy Pena, Alex Bregman, Framber Valdez, and Cristian Javier set up Houston to make key trades to acquire elite starting pitching — including trading for Justin Verlander twice.

The result of all those trades is one of the thinnest farm systems in baseball, especially after the re-acquisition of Verlander in exchanged for the Astros’ top two prospects, Ryan Clifford and Drew Gilbert.
