CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (June 6, 2019) – Vizual Edge, a leading visual performance and training product for athletes at all levels, has announced a strategic partnership with PROGRAM 15, the Official Global Grassroots Player Identification and Development Program for New Balance Baseball. With a joint commitment to positively impact the game of baseball and elevate performance opportunities for amateur baseball players, the two organizations will launch their collaboration at PROGRAM 15 tournament and scouting events throughout 2019. like the Future Star Series National Tournaments and International Week. Athletes will be introduced to Vizual Edge at the Future Star Series National Tournaments in Houston from June 26 – July 28, 2019, and the Future Star Series International Week at Fenway Park from September 20-22, 2019.

Utilizing technology previously reserved for professional athletes, Vizual Edge created the Edge Trainer to provide visual evaluation and training for youth, high school and college players. The computer-based training module combines 3D technology with decades of advanced clinical research in sports vision to sharpen neural pathways between the eyes and brain. Delivering a series of training sessions designed to improve the speed, coordination, and efficiency of an individual’s eye movements, users of the Edge Trainer enjoy improved timing, balance, hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and decision making.

“Partnering with PROGRAM 15 gives us an incredible opportunity to put our product out in front of athletes who are proactive in elevating their game,” said Connor Powers, Director of Baseball at Vizual Edge. “Visual training in any sport is imperative, but particularly in baseball where reaction time and hand-eye coordination are crucial. We are excited to partner with PROGRAM 15 and provide players with a tool that aims to boost on-field performance.”

Led by PROGRAM 15 staff of former pro scouts, Major League All-Stars, and World Series veterans, Future Stars Series Scouting and Evaluation events have built a reputation as the most comprehensive amateur baseball player identification and development experiences available. The partnership between Vizual Edge and PROGRAM 15 will give players a chance to have real-time evaluations in the Edge Trainer, an opportunity to include those scores within their scouting report, as well as ongoing visual training.

Jeremy Booth, PROGRAM 15 Founder, CEO and President of Baseball Operations for The New Balance Baseball Future Star Series said, “As a former MLB scout, I have first-hand experience using Vizual Edge as an evaluation tool for top baseball talent. The next step is to use Vizual Edge as a critical training and player development platform. We are eager to incorporate Vizual Edge into all of our events to further our mission of youth player development.”

“We want to be embedded within the sport of baseball,” continued Powers. “We envision Vizual Edge scores becoming a standard addition to scouting reports, providing a baseline in visual acuity that competitive players can measure up against and surpass through training.”

Baseball academies and individual players will be able to purchase Vizual Edge evaluations and additional training sessions at each PROGRAM 15 event as well as directly at www.vizualedge.com.
