The INSTRUCTS program is presented in a comprehensive spring training format. Our entire staff of Scouts and Development Coaches will be on hand and It’s going to be a loaded few days. We have secured a 4-field complex, all turf, and the schedule lines up on dates that fit for all regions. Each graduating class will have its own field, and its own FSS Player development and scouting staff working with it.

Location: Corpus Christi, TX
Dates: 12/27-29 (Friday- Sunday)
Arrive 12/26, evening, out Sunday night late or Monday am 12/30 (better)

Gear Provided: Instructs Shirt and hat
All Players must wear New Balance Apparel
***Notes: players who already have pants and NB footwear, must bring to wear
Players are to bring their wood bats

Instruction to be covered on site, by category and position is:
Hitting: Physical: Programs, routines, drill libraries, analytics, bat speed, hand strength, buildups, and batting practice swing
Mental: visualization, game prep, situational hitting, pitch to pitch adjustments, ambush approach, setting up pitchers, how to lift the baseball, how to change swings and when, analytical self-understanding, preparing for opposing pitchers
Psych testing (pre-event)
Cognitive (pre-event)
Vision (on site)
Action plans from the testing to improve each area identified
Pitching: Same as above, but tailored to beat hitters and including:
Arm action, fastball command, protecting the fastball, understanding which breaking ball is best for you, pitch sequencing, pitching to zones, extending the plate, slot repetition, delivery efficiency, defending the position, holding runners
Infielders: Body clock, double plays, angles, footwork, gaining ground, how to read spin, shortening throws, protecting your arm, first step quickness, anticipation, triangles, understanding analytics, and how to read hitters
Catchers: Blocking, receiving, game calling, pop ups, throwing begin runners, release, understanding your pitcher, game analytics, and controlling the game, framing, understanding technology
Outfielders: Angles, baseballs off the wall spin, self-positioning, reading speed, footwork, when to cheat hitters, backing up bases, triangles, and analytic understanding
