Summers and falls at New Balance Future Stars Series mean Signature Events, and it all starts with the Fresh 50 and Underclass Premier this weekend at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, Connecticut.

Before their selections to these events, players appeared in Regional Combines, Scout Days, and at the National and Underclass Combines in Houston in July, where we capture data, including via Trackman and Synergy technologies.

Below are some data standouts set to perform in Hartford this weekend at both events.

Underclass Premier

All class of 2028 unless otherwise noted

Easton Tuley, LHP/RF — Abilene Wylie HS (TX) | Texas Angels

Tuley, an incoming sophomore who won’t be 16 until next February, posted exit velocity numbers reaching over 93 mph in live games at the National Combines in July, among the elite marks regardless of class.

The left-handed hitter drew three average or better tools grades from the FSS staff, including hitting, and is a legitimate two-way talent.

Kaeden Cabral, 3B/RHP — St. Martin Secondary (Ont.) | HPP Tigers

Cabral posted strong exit velocities in Houston (86.9 mph average), including one that nearly hit triple digits. He produced a high line-drive rate and has flashed some power potential in the past, per FSS Scouts.

Liam Asher, C/3B — St. Michael’s College (Ont.) | HPP Tigers

Asher posted consistent exit velocities in the 80s, but had the highest tracked batted ball in any class at 102.5 mph. He made solid contact versus offspeed stuff — one slider, one changeup, two line drives — and handled velocity.

Scouts like his arm enough to stay behind the plate or play on the left side of the infield.

William Trimborn, RHP/CF — JSerra High School (Calif.) | NorCal U

The all-around data on Trimborn is as impressive as any player in Hartford this weekend. He showed out during the athletic testing phase, logging Top 5 times in the 10-Yard (1.61), 60-Yard (6.88), a class best 9’4 Broad Jump and was within an inch of posting the best Triple Jump at 28’10.

On the mound, he added impressive curveball spin (2188 RPM) and approached the mid-80s with his fastball.

Trimborn is a projectable athlete at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, and drew future big-league grade across the board from FSS Scouts, including a 60-grade curveball and 55 fastball.

But Trimborn wasn’t done. He also showed out as a potential bat and centerfielder, starting with a 4.8 Pro Agility mark. The scouting staff also likes his right-handed swing and projects a chance to hit for average and find some power.

Preston Hillis, RHP/C — Las Lomas HS (Calif.) | NorCal U

Hillis sat in 82-85 mph with his fastball, and maxed at 88 with some backspin (2105). He showed athleticism with a 4.63 Pro Agility, and received strong reviews at catcher, including blocking, receiving, and throwing (future 55 arm).

Aaron Castillo, C/RHP — Veterans Memorial HS (TX) | Twelve Red Sox Scout Team

Castillo touched 85 mph in Houston, generating good spin on his heater (2210 RPM), and slider (2438) — the best in his class and top 10 in among all arms that threw sliders at the Underclass and National Combine (93).

He threw strikes (64%), first-pitch strikes (67%), and induced a 40% swinging strike rate.

The 6-foot, 222-pound Castillo shows promise as a catcher and left-handed bat, too, drawing future big-league level grades in hitting, power production, and throwing. FSS scouts also loved his overall strength, quick arm, and competitive nature.

Carter Grant, LHP/1B — Alameda High School (Calif.) | NorCal U

Grant, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound southpaw, averaged 81 mph with his fastball, touched 85, and showed good spin on the slider (2111 RPM). He threw 61% strikes, got ahead regularly (56% first-pitch strikes), and missed bats at a 54% clip.

Grant was highly efficient, and FSS scouts lauded his strike throwing, clan arm action, and good feel for the changeup.

He’s promising as a hitter too, showing some speed (future 55) and range for first base, plus a chance at some power.

Fresh 50

Class of 2029, unless otherwise noted

Jonah Gregg, 2B/3B — Georgia Premier Academy

Gregg is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound infielder who posted an average exit velocity of 81.1 mph in our Underclass Combine in July, a solid mark for an incoming freshman. The FSS scouting staff projects the tools to land in big-league territory.

John Tedesco, CF/LHP — Claremore High School (TX) | Sandlot Tulsa

Tedesco showed signs of legitimate two-way ability during the Underclass Combine, thanks to a projectable, 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. He throws from a three-quarter slot and showed he can spin a breaking ball, topping out at 2170 RPM and generating 28% swing-and-miss overall.

He was up to 78 mph, threw strikes with all three pitches (60% overall), and showed a projectable changeup with promising spin traits (1551 avg RPM). He also showed a curveball that approached 2000.

Petro Vrantsis, SS/2B (2028) — Sinclair Secondary (Ont.) | Durham Stallions

Vrantsis, a young 2028, made loud contact in Houston, leading his class in average exit velocity (83.2 mph) and top EV (88.1). The right-handed batter pushed out a 50% line-drive rate and impressed our scouting staff with good hands, speed, and arm strength that plays well up the middle.

Austin DeGonzague, RHP — Del Oro High School (Calif.) | NorCal U

DeGonzague sat in the low-80s, touching 82 mph, and showed the ability to generate spin on his slider (2200 RPM). He threw strikes and ended the Underclass Combine with a 25% swinging strike rate and 40% strikeout mark.

There’s substantial physical projection at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, and the delivery is clean and repeatable, signs of organic growth in velocity and strike throwing.

He doubles as a first baseman with a chance to develop in the batter’s box, but the data suggests his future is brighter on the mound.
