So, look.
Admin here asked the Boss if it was OK to let a few names out for the upcoming World Combine — yes, the event officially returns to the schedule for the first time since 2020 in Ocoee, Florida, from December 8-10, 2025 — or if we should wait, and the answer was “yes.”
Tease a few names? Or wait?
Let’s share a few names, but in all seriousness, when full rosters do drop, players are subject to change given the international nature of the event; Sebastian Walcott was ticketed for the original event in the Bahamas five years ago, but dropped out after committing to the Texas Rangers, which certainly has worked out for both parties.
With that said, here are a handful of players from the Dominican Republic who, as of now, you can expect to see next month in the New Balance Future Stars World Combine.
ISMAEL BELTRE, OF (2027 SIGNING ELIGIBLE)
Beltre’s smooth stroke from the right side stood out during his appearance with the Green squad at our October visit to the DR -Equipo Verde! Beltre is one of many standouts from the Cacon Academy group, which included Braston Basker and Daniel De La Rosa. He’ll be on the big stage at the World Combine in December.
YORWAN JOSE PIADOSO, OF (2028)
Piadoso is one of the more “now” bats on the roster, helped by a 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame at just 14 years old. Not eligible to sign with a big league club until 2028, he’s certainly one they’ll have their eyes on, having already had his athleticism on display with us in October during our second trip to the island.
OLSEN ROMILUS, OF (2027)
We saw Romilus both in August and in October, where the left-handed hitting outfielder who is a bit on the smaller side at 5-10, 145 impressed out of the Brito Baseball Academy to earn his way to Florida for the World Combine.
CRISTIAN YAN, OF (2027)
Another of the Cacon Academy group, there’s a lot to like with Yan, who still has some room to add to a 5-10, 150-pound frame. Good instincts to match a strong arm in the outfield, with another sweet lefty swing out of the DR.
DIEGO CONSECION, INF (2025)
Consecion was arguably the top producer during our August trip to the Dominican, racking up hit after hit for the Orange squad down at the Naranjo complex. Overlooked as a 2025-eligible sign, the 6-foot-2, 165-pound shortstop might be a nice find for an organization with their eyes open.
LISBERTO REYNOSO, INF (2029)
We saw Reynoso twice — in August and October — and it was clear his name was going to be on the list of invites to Florida on both occasions. Righty bat out of Cacon that’ll be one of the youngest players at the World Combine. Some upside to keep watch on here.
RADHAMES HERRERA, C (2028)
Another player we’ve been able to get multiple looks at, Herrera is a 2028-eligible catcher with some projection in the frame at 6-0 and 173 pounds. Consistent line drives during BP, threw runners out in game situations. Plenty to like here, and we’ll see him in the Orlando suburbs shortly.
GENDRY VICENTE, C (2027)
Vicente popped in his August appearance with us — we also saw him in October — where he delivered with the bat and the arm in games. Smaller frame at 5-11 and 155 pounds, but there’s some feel for the game and above-average athleticism for the position that gives him a shot to succeed here.
