Mac Heuer is an extremely intriguing prep arm out of Georgia who has slowly, but surely climbed up various mock drafts and draft rankings over the course of the year. The Texas Tech commit likely doesn’t have any projection left in a large frame, but has seen his fastball already touch the high 90’s in overpowering the majority of his competition. A product of the Georgia Bombers, Heuer is one of many in a long line of Draft prospect that program has been able to help along the way.

FSS Event History: Heuer has a lengthy history at FSS events, including big showings in signature events such as the National Combine, Main Event and Caribbean Classic. Seeing some time at Fenway Park in the Main Event, Heuer dazzled at times, striking out five of the batters he faced, which came on the heels of a similar showing at the National Combine in Lake Charles, where he sat down seven via strikeout.
Current Ranking in Joe Doyle’s FSS Plus Top 600: 212
Joe Doyle on Heuer:
Mac Heuer has performed against high levels of competition this summer, with a 91-95 MPH four seam fastball that touches 96 and a sharp 78-82 MPH downer curveball overwhelming hitters in 2022. Heuer’s thick body and stiffness in mechanics suggest a reliever track, but he has been able to throw strikes with consistency throughout the showcase circuit. Further development of a firm changeup or finding a high velocity slider would help boost his starting chances.
