Location: San Jac CC (Houston, TX)
Why:
FSS events are widely trusted by MLB clubs and college programs nationwide. Future Stars Series athletes accounted for 15.6% of the 2024 MLB Draft and more than 33% of players at the 2024 and 2025 MLB Pre-Draft Combines. Player data from FSS events is directly utilized within professional scouting and analytical models, making these combines a meaningful validation point in the evaluation process.
The Underclass combine is structured to replicate College and MLB camp-style evaluations over three days. Players will participate in full-on-field workouts, professional-style batting practice, and live games, all supported by comprehensive testing, data capture, and performance analysis.
What Players Receive
Each participating athlete will receive a complete professional evaluation and development experience, including:
- Full combine testing using the FSS Athletic Model
- Force plate analysis, vision testing, cognitive assessment, and defensive evaluation
- Advanced performance data via Trackman, Hawkeye, or Yakkertech (minimum one system used)
- On-field batting practice data and in-game analytics
- Three (3) live games captured on Synergy Video, used by all 30 MLB clubs and college programs
- Comprehensive data analysis and Player Development (PD) feedback
- Major League camp model event environment with live leaderboards
- Professional social media coverage and exposure
- New Balance footwear and official FSS uniform package (jersey, pants, hat)
- Official baseball card imagery created through our exclusive partner, LEAF
- Evaluation for selection to the FSS Main Event or designated Underclass Events
- Consideration for All-Prospect Teams, selected by FSS Scouting, Player Development staff, and MLB clubs in attendance
Upon completion of the Underclass Combine, players may be selected to advance to the New Balance Future Stars Series Underclass Elite or designated Underclass Events, depending on graduation class and performance. These signature events are held at premier MLB affiliated venues and are considered must-attend dates on the professional and collegiate scouting calendar.
What’s Next?
All invited athletes are required to take part in fundraising efforts supporting the Future Stars Series Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. A minimum of $850.00 per player is required prior to the start of the event. An initial security deposit is submitted upon acceptance and is fully credited toward the fundraising total. All contributions are tax-deductible and directly support event operations and the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives. Fundraising provides players and their families an opportunity to obtain additional support for the athlete beyond paying traditional event fees.
Selection to this National Combine confirms that you have earned the opportunity to compete among the top amateur players in the country. More than 300 Future Stars Series alumni have gone on to sign professional contracts, with hundreds more advancing to college baseball and collectively earning hundreds of millions of dollars in signing bonuses and scholarships.
