In the first iteration of the Classic in 2022, the likes of Cooper Pratt, Raudi Rodriguez, Boston Baro, Zion Rose, Tre Phelps, Luke McNeillie, and Alex Kranzler competed as high school standouts before moving on to pro ball or big-time college baseball.
Thus far, we’ve dug into the following players from this year’s U.S. Roster:
- Jax Van Valkenburg, C/1B
- Tommy Georgelos, OF
- Brody Crane, RHP
- John “JT” Reyna, RHP
- Logan D’Amico, RHP/OF
- Mike Teasley, RHP/OF
- Bradley Anderson, RHP
Hudson Tuley is among the more recurrent names in the annals of the Future Stars Series scouting database, which reaches back to 2016 — yep, 2026 is our 10th anniversary. The LHP/1B jumped onto the FSS radar in January of 2023 at a Texas Angels Scout Day.
Tuley was a freshman at Abilene Wylie High School, showing bat speed, a projectable approach, athleticism, and a good arm that could play in the field, on the mound, or both.
Since then, Tuley has performed in nine additional FSS events, including our Main Event at Globe Life Field in October, and he’ll add the Caribbean Classic to the tally next month.
That’s right, nine (additional) times. NINE TIMES.
He’s come a long way in three years. He sat 87-90 mph with his fastball in Arlington, threw a lot of strikes with it, and has three quality secondaries, including a breaking ball that splits into two shapes (2300-2400 RPM) and a sinking changeup.
Tuley has also flashed as a bat and gets high grades for instincts on the bases and in the field, but he’s making a loud mark from the mound.
Long and loose, four-pitch mix. Has a chance to be special … He is a competitor. When he is on, innings can be quick. All the elements are here … Ton of upside here. — FSS Scouting Staff
Tuley is headed to McLennan in the fall.
