In the first iteration of the Classic in 2022, the likes of Cooper Pratt, Raudi Rodriguez, Boston Baro, Zion Rose, Tre Phelps, Luke McNeillie, and Alex Kranzler competed as high school standouts before moving on to pro ball or big-time college baseball.
Thus far, we’ve dug into the following players:
- Jax Van Valkenburg, C/1B
- Tommy Georgelos, OF
- Brody Crane, RHP
- John “JT” Reyna, RHP
- Logan D’Amico, RHP/OF
Oak Ridge High School’s Mike Teasley is on some kind of run, and he’s not done yet.
The class of 2026 right-handed pitcher and outfielder recently committed to Tennessee to stay home and play college ball in Knoxville. He’s just come off a huge summer and fall, including a strong showing in the Future Stars Series Main Event at Globe Life Field in October, and will be in Puerto Rico for the Classic in January.
Teasley is athletic, lending to the belief he can play both ways in college, and sat 89-92 mph in the Main Event. He threw consistent strikes with it. His 75-78 mph slider is a high-spin breaking ball, averaging over 3000 rpm.
Teasley flashed a handful of low-70s curveballs with well above-average spin rates, and used his changeup with confidence.
At the plate he reached exit velocities into the mid-90s several times, and pounded out three balls in game player well over 90 mph for the weekend.
He has really quick arm that generates some velocity. Also a position guy … Can see him doing both at the college level. Still some upside and does have some now velocity. Athletic kid with some potential on the mound. — FSS Scouting Staff
