ASHMORE: March 2026 Dominican Republic Standouts, Equipo Azul/Team Blue

March 18, 2026

Now that the New Balance Baseball Future Stars Series most recent trip to the Dominican Republic is firmly in the rear-view mirror — with plans already in place for a return, of course — it’s time to look back to our March visit and take a quick look at some of the standout players on each of the five teams who played over the two-day event, including the Red pitching-only squad.

Jesus De Los Santos, INF (pictured)
2027-28 eligible signing; R/R, 6-foot-0, 165-pounds

Jesus De Los Santos was tied with Black team infielder Luis Berroa as the highest-graded player from our March trip to the DR. It’s just a flat-out glowing review of the 7.05 60-yard dash runner in his scouting report as well, with an “All-Star level shortstop” ceiling here. That report reads, in part, that “this kid is a stud and has a chance to be a special one if all the stars align…profiles as an everyday shortstop with the athletic ability and tools to be able to bounce to the OF and play any position.” 16 years old, De Los Santos is certainly already on the radar of numerous big league clubs and would be in line for a significant bonus if he can maintain his development path.

Jinovilis Jeremis, SS (Nercy Brito)
2028; S/R, 5-11, 150

This was our second time seeing the 2028-eligible infielder, with our first look coming at December’s World Combine. Two different scouts saw him at those events, which were three months apart. Same exact grade both times. Jeremis was the third-highest rated position player we saw during this trip to the DR, and the marks are high across the board for the switch-hiter. His most recent report says he profiles “as a Major League starting middle infielder (shortstop/second base) with above-average defensive value and offensive impact potential” and lauds him for being a “true switch hitter” with an ability to essentially mirror himself at both sides of the plate. Lots of future 60’s and even a future 65 across the board here.

David De Los Santos, INF (Nercy Brito)
2028; R/R, 6-2, 155

A 2028-eligible sign, David De Los Santos also impressed scouts in the DR in what was our third look at him following appearances in the World Combine and Caribbean Classic. A righty bat who “shows ability to stay through the baseball and produce line drives to both gaps,” he’s impressed at every turn and our scouts believe he has the potential to be an everyday utility-type in the big leagues, with future 60 grades put on his raw power and throwing.

Israel Rosario, OF (Roy Gomez)
2029; R/R, 6-2, 160

The second-youngest player on Equipo Azul, Rosario is a 2029-eligible outfielder who showed some upside and plenty of projection in what remains a very long, lanky frame. A 7.03 60 runner, Rosario “profiles as a platoon starting OF to a quality 4th/5th OF depending on how the bat plays” per our scouts, although they’d like to see more consistency in his game on both sides of the ball as he continues his maturity process.
