In the first iteration of the Classic in 2022, the likes of Cooper PrattRaudi RodriguezBoston BaroZion RoseTre PhelpsLuke McNeillie, and Alex Kranzler competed as high school standouts before advancing to professional baseball or major college ball.

Thus far, we’ve dug into the following players from this year’s U.S. Roster:

The Future Stars Series staff first saw Hargrave High School (TX) catcher John Dolan (2026) at our North Dallas Regional Combine four years ago. Yes, four.

He was a two-way player, drawing strong reviews for his glove, raw power, approach, and barrel control.

“Primary catcher, good hands, receives the ball well…quick arm and ball comes out clean… will have power to all fields…good setup and swing path with tempo and rhythm to hitting actions.”

All at 14 years of age.

At the time, the switch hitter was 5-oot-10 and 180 pounds. Some things have changed, some have not.

He’s now scraping 6 feet tall and a strong. sturdy 195 pounds. He’s primarily a bat now, and is focused on catching and playing infield … and hitting, of course.

Dolan showed consistent BP barrels at the National Combine last summer and showed the “arm strength to stay at the catcher position.” He topped off his fall by reaching 95 mph off the bat in the Main Event at Globe Life Field.
